Diplomat, American Board of Neurology

A Neurologist at NeuroCare Center of Atlanta since its establishment in the year 2000. Dr. Awad is certified by the American Board of Neurology. 

He has been a Georgia resident since 1988 (internship, residency and fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta) and has practiced neurology at Piedmont Hospital since 1993. One of Dr. Awad's unique qualifications as a health care provider is his survival of a serious car accident 3 months after completing his medical training.  This life-changing experience gave him a higher level of empathy for patients, especially those suffering from pain and neurological injuries or disorders. 

Practice & Office Manger

Jody joined the NeuroCare in 2002.

She handles everything that is related to the management and business aspects of the practice.

Jody is very loyal, trustworthy, pleasant and will take the time to help patients and insurance companies settle financial issues.

Jody has two children and two grand children.  

Medical Assistant

Wendell  Mitchell joined NeuroCare in 2003. He is a graduate from High Tech Institute. 

Wendell has been an excellent assistant from checking the patient's vital signs to making sure that he reviews all the medical records, gets studies scheduled, approved and contacts insurance companies and other medical offices.

He is trained to do nerve conduction studies, EEG and autonomic neuropathy testing (tests done in the office). 

Outside of medicine, Wendell has 2 children and one grandchild, he enjoys body building, music and is very health conscious. Wendell is very friendly and has been a great dependable person to work with

Front Desk Receptionist

Renata joined NeuroCare in 2009  handling appointments and scheduling.

She strives on providing excellent customer service.  She loves her work and takes great pride in assisting patients and staff.  

She has a wonderful family that she spends her free time with.
